Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Lead SQA Engineer to take ownership of our software quality assurance process. The ideal candidate will lead a team of QA engineers, drive automation initiatives, review code for quality, collaborate closely with project managers, and ensure smooth, on-time, and high-quality releases. This role demands strong technical expertise in test automation, functional and API testing, basic security testing, and excellent leadership skills to maintain testing excellence and deliver robust, high-performing software products.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership & Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of 10+ SQA engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Take full ownership of QA activities from planning to release.
Automation & Code Quality
Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and Selenium.
Conduct code reviews to ensure test scripts follow best practices and maintain high maintainability.
Collaboration & Release Management
Work closely with project managers, developers, and stakeholders to plan, coordinate and ensure smooth releases.
Communicate quality status, risks and mitigation plans effectively to stakeholders.
Testing Excellence
Ensure comprehensive test coverage for functional, regression, integration and performance testing.
Perform API testing and validate endpoints for reliability, security and performance.
Conduct basic security testing to identify vulnerabilities.
Review and approve test cases to ensure completeness, clarity, and accuracy.
Process Improvement
Define and implement QA processes, tools, and standards to improve efficiency and quality.
Drive adoption of automation and modern testing practices across the QA team.
Experience: 8+ years in software testing, with at least 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
Technical Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and Selenium automation frameworks.
Proficient in API testing (e.g., Postman, Rest Assured).
Basic knowledge of security testing principles.
Strong programming skills in JavaScript, Java or Python.
Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading and mentoring QA teams.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving and collaboration abilities.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar from reputed public and private universities.
