Mobile testing defines , when a device runs in the mobile application system , it meets all the requirements followed specifically for the mobile design or not. Mobile application not only is a very efficient system of reaching users , but also a very effective system to increase the user engagement.

Checklists

  • Operational testing - It indicates the app's response to events and changes to certain devices when the power changes , data cable connection , WIFI connection, airplane mode connection, then compares their response to different requirements.

  • Interruption testing - Interruption testing indicates if the app gets terminated or session out while any income notification, incoming-outgoing calls/SMS/MMS/pop/Reminder etc.It is needed to ensure all the notifications don't crash the app.

  • Performance testing - To check how much better the application performs while mobile has low battery, out of coverage network. In general performance testing will test the speed, stability, and scalability of the application.

  • Mobile App Security testing - Ensure the absolute security of the users data, making sure none of the password or important documents are being taken in unexpected places.

  • Regression Testing - In regression testing, the tester has to do some major feature testing so that any update in the app doesn’t change the functionality or creates errors in the app.To keep the apps issue free, the testing is done.

  • UI testing - One of the most important mobile testing checklists is the UI testing, to check in landscape mode that the testing has been done in a way so that the app is perfectly capable of being fitted in all the required mobiles, also the design breaking testing can be done.

  • Cross platform testing - Sometimes, an application might run fine in android OREO version but not might run fine in PIE version. So the app fails in running there. The tester must do the cross platform testing so that the app runs fine in all platforms.

  • Installation Testing - Testing the app and validating the install and uninstallation of the app.To check if there is any data left for the uninstall apps.

So , the above are the checklists of mobile testing. A beginner level mobile tester can follow the above ways to do the mobile app testing. And can maintain a smooth flow of the apps before sending the application to the production pipeline.
