Job Title: Tester / Test Lead - Financial Services

Sterling Finance Partners LLC is hiring Tester / Test Lead - Financial Services

We are hiring multiple Testers and Test Leads to support a high-visibility, long-term Testing Program at a leading financial services organization in San Diego, CA. This program spans software selection, system functionality, data integrity, and compliance within an enterprise data warehouse. Ideal candidates bring a mix of technical testing experience, data validation, and an understanding of financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute test strategy, test plans and test cases for enterprise systems and data workflows

• Validate data transformations across multiple systems and warehouses

• Identify missing, inconsistent, or incomplete data and coordinate resolution efforts

• Test for functional accuracy, system performance, and regulatory compliance

• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, data teams, and SMEs to clarify requirements and triage issues across several pods

• Track and manage defects using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps

• Support manual and semi-automated testing; automation experience is a plus

• AI testing automation experience a plus

• Demonstrated knowledge of data flows, ETL, and data lineage

• For leads: assistance in QA software selection (familiarity with Data Gaps and other ETL/Testing software a plus), define test strategy, coordinate resources, oversee testing execution, and ensure Testing Team SLAs & KPIs

Project Focus Areas:

• Functional, Stress, Performance, Integration, QA, UAT, Regression Testing, etc. in a financial data warehouse, which processes daily data

• Enterprise data flow testing and gap analysis

• Verification of business rules and exception handling

• Ensuring traceability between requirements and test outcomes

• Evaluating edge cases, risk conditions, and systemic data issues

Qualifications:

• 3+ years (Tester) or 6+ years (Test Lead) experience in testing roles

• Hands-on experience validating systems, workflows, or financial data

• Proficient in writing test cases, test scripts, and interpreting business requirements

• Strong SQL skills required for data analysis and validation

• Familiarity with test case management and defect tracking tools

• Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or structured SDLC environments

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice-to-Have:

• Prior experience in financial services or regulatory environments

• Test automation, AI-based testing, and / or scripting experience is a plus

Employment Details:
