Job Details

Pathao is seeking motivated individuals for the position of SQA Engineer for its Fintech Engineering team to ensure the quality and reliability of mobile, web, and backend systems through effective test planning, execution, and defect tracking. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to validate software functionalities, API integrations, and backend processes — contributing to seamless and high-quality user experiences.

The incumbent will be responsible to:

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to understand requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
Execute manual test cases for mobile applications, web platforms, backend services, and APIs to validate functionality, usability, data integrity, and compatibility.
Perform API testing to validate request/response flows, error handling, and integration between microservices.
Identify, document, and track bugs using standard issue tracking tools, ensuring accurate reporting and timely resolution.
Perform functional, regression, exploratory, smoke, and user acceptance testing across multiple platforms and backend environments.
Participate in requirement analysis sessions to ensure a clear understanding of features, data flows, and test coverage.
Support the QA team in preparing and maintaining test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
Collaborate with peers to continuously improve testing processes and practices.
Learn and adapt to new tools, techniques, and technologies to expand testing capabilities.
Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying risks and communicating effectively with team members.

The incumbent should bring along:

1-4 years of experience in software quality assurance with a strong focus on testing mobile, web, and backend applications.
Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
Basic understanding of QA concepts, testing methodologies, and defect lifecycle.
Experience or exposure to RESTful API testing, including validation of endpoints, parameters, and response structures.
Hard-working, self-confident, and a quick learner.
Willing to accept challenges with a positive mindset.
Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and dynamic business environments.
Cooperative, friendly, and a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with bug tracking and test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
Knowledge of database testing and the ability to write basic SQL queries.
Understanding of cross-browser and cross-device testing.
Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar, including testing request validation, authentication, and response accuracy.
Familiarity with backend data validation and log analysis to troubleshoot API issues.
Basic understanding of performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter, k6, or Locust to assess API and system scalability.
Understanding of security testing, especially for backend and API layers.
