Job Details

Softwrd Ltd is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to own QA practices for a new cross-functional team building a B2C SaaS platform serving 200K+ users. The product ships frequently and operates in a high-expectation environment with compliance requirements, localization, and high concurrency.

You will define a pragmatic QA strategy, lead end-to-end release validation, and build an automation foundation that supports frequent, confident releases without slowing teams down. You will also act as Scrum Master for the team to drive sprint ceremonies. This is a hands-on role with real ownership.

This is an on-site role based in Dhaka, with working hours aligned to Norway operations.

Responsibilities

Quality Engineering

Define and own the team’s QA strategy across functional, regression, integration, and release testing.
Build and maintain automated test suites for web workflows (Selenium / Cypress / Playwright) and ensure stability over time.
Establish release readiness practices and quality gates integrated into CI/CD (GitHub Actions / Jenkins).
Improve and expand API testing coverage.
Identify quality and delivery risks early and help teams make informed trade-offs between speed, coverage, and confidence.
Partner with frontend and backend engineers to define testable requirements, acceptance criteria, and reliable delivery practices.

Scrum & Delivery

Act as a delivery coach, helping the team continuously improve predictability, flow, and collaboration.
Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Track and improve delivery metrics (velocity, cycle time, burndown) and remove delivery impediments.
Partner with the Product Owner to ensure backlog readiness and sprint clarity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of QA / software testing experience in production environments.
Strong hands-on experience in both manual testing and test automation for web applications.
Experience building test strategy and QA processes for a team/product (not only executing test cases).
Demonstrated experience working as a Scrum Master in an Agile/Scrum team.
Working knowledge of Git-based workflows and modern tracking/documentation tools (we use Linear + Notion).
Strong communication skills to work with foreign stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

Scrum Master certification (CSM).
Experience with performance testing, concurrency risks, or release validation for frequent deployments.
Familiarity with AWS environments (EC2, ECS, ECR, Secrets Manager, Route 53).
