Job Title: QA Lead

Astha IT produces solutions for globally prominent names like Transcom Group, University of Hawaii, MIT, SaaS Ventures, Meriton Australia (a Fortune-500 company) and the United States Department of Defense (DoD).

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor the QA team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance to team members to ensure timely and quality deliverables.

Test Strategy and Planning:

• Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans that align with project requirements and timelines.
• Define test scopes, objectives, and success criteria for functional, performance, and security testing.

Quality Processes:

• Establish and enforce QA standards, processes, and best practices within the team.
• Drive the implementation of automated testing frameworks and tools to enhance test efficiency.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with development, product, and project management teams to understand requirements and provide quality input during all stages of the development lifecycle.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure QA alignment with Agile methodologies.

Defect Management:

• Track, report, and prioritize defects, ensuring timely resolution.
• Conduct root cause analysis of critical issues and implement preventive measures.

Test Execution and Reporting:

• Oversee manual and automated test execution, ensuring coverage of all critical functionalities.
• Generate detailed QA reports, including test coverage, defect metrics, and overall product quality.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with testing tools like Selenium, JIRA, TestNG, and Postman.
• Proficiency in automated testing frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools like Jenkins or GitLab.

Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of security testing and compliance standards.

Preferred Certifications:

• ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) Certification – Foundation or Advanced Level.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile-related certification for working in Agile environments.
• Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) or Certified Test Manager (CTM).

Academic Requirements:

Not much. If you can fulfill the aforementioned skill requirements, we don’t care about the academic backgrounds. Your skills matter. Certificates and CGPA are secondary.

But if you have a degree (Bachelors or Masters) in CS / CSC / CSE / Software Engineering, it’s a plus of course.

All we need from you is a super-hungry learning habit and a geeky-techie spirit.

If you have a strong portfolio of complex applications/software/tools that you worked on, that would be terrific.

Experience Requirements:

7-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, including at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proven expertise in leading QA teams and managing the QA lifecycle in Agile environments.

Monthly Salary:

Negotiable.
