Job Title: Senior QA Analyst – Performance & Automation Testing (5+ Years, Certified)

Location: Primarily Remote – NYC or East Coast Preferred
Type: W-2 or C2C | U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders Only
Client: New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE)

Position Summary

BlueSun Technologies is seeking a highly experienced and certified QA Analyst to lead and execute automated and manual testing across high-volume applications. This role will focus heavily on performance, load, and endurance testing, with a core emphasis on LoadRunner scripting, validation of failover conditions, and impact analysis.

This is not an entry-level QA or generic test engineer role. We're looking for a seasoned professional who can own end-to-end test strategy, build and execute performance test cases, and script in LoadRunner using advanced protocols (HTTP, HTML, WebServices, TrueClient), while also understanding core programming principles.

Minimum Hard Requirements — Do Not Apply Unless You Meet All of These:

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in QA testing, including load, performance, and stress testing
• Prior experience managing the full quality lifecycle for large-scale enterprise or government applications

Certifications (Required):

• One or both of the following:
• ISTQB or CSTE (Certified Software Tester)
• Advanced LoadRunner certification from HP/MicroFocus

Test Planning & Execution:

• Proven ability to develop test strategies, plans, cases, and scripts based on functional requirements
• Experience executing:
• Load, stress, volume, and endurance tests
• Failover, recovery, and system availability assessments

Tools & Technologies:

• Strong experience with:
• LoadRunner (HTTP, HTML, WebServices, TrueClient)
• Visual Studio, Webload, Microsoft Test Manager, or similar
• C, C#, Java (for basic scripting/debugging)
• SOAP UI / Rest Client for API validation
• AppDynamics, Splunk for monitoring, tracing, and performance logging

Programming Foundations:

• Working knowledge of:
• C and C#
• Data structures, collections, and multithreading concepts (not as a dev, but to validate concurrency/test logic)

Compliance & Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
• Must reside and work from the continental United States
• Must be able to pass NYC DOE fingerprinting and background checks
• Must be eligible for entry into the DOE PETS system
• No offshore, H-1B, OPT, CPT, or visa transfers allowed
• Must be willing to attend occasional onsite meetings in NYC
• No travel reimbursement provided — NYC-local or East Coast preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and execute comprehensive test plans for DIIT-managed projects
• Script complex test scenarios using LoadRunner for performance and load testing
• Conduct manual, automated, API, failover, and system-level tests
• Analyze performance results, logs, and metrics using tools like AppDynamics and Splunk
• Manage and document the entire QA lifecycle, including regression, bug tracking, and user acceptance
• Collaborate with development, architecture, and DevOps teams to continuously improve system reliability and test coverage

Not a Fit If You...

• Have less than 5 years of QA testing experience
• Do not hold at least one required certification (ISTQB, CSTE, LoadRunner Advanced)
• Lack experience scripting in LoadRunner or testing with Webload
• Only perform manual UI testing or basic functionality QA
• Are unfamiliar with performance tuning, metrics tracing, or failover scenario testing
• Cannot meet NYC DOE clearance requirements or work onsite if needed
