& publish test plans, test strategies, review team’s test plans and
road map of testing during upgrades
- Perform
testing in pre-Prod environments to ensure that the documented
requirements are met
- Communicate
clearly with business stakeholders
- Apply
the first principles to solve problems leveraging technology and by
applying deep understanding of product/business and customers
- Drive
improvements in test coverage based on live site feedback and
characterization of patterns of issues in the product
- inculcate
a culture of efficiency to enable technology and automation as a catalyst
for quality and repeatability at scale
- Ensure
the best automation and quality engineering practices are adopted &
followed across the organization
- Be
hands-on with technology stack, test automation frameworks and tools used
by the team and can lead by example
- Works
closely with architects and peer leaders in development to validate
nonfunctional requirements of the product at scale
- Be
responsible for timeliness and quality of deliverables
- Resolve
conflicting priorities and provide clarity and direction to the team for
execution
- Communicate
effectively and keeps internal & external stakeholders updated on the
progress of projects
- Anticipate
problems & unblock the team proactively
Daily activities:
- Define
automation strategy (functional & API) for the area of ownership
- Build
regression suite using BDD /TDD framework.
- Develop
test scenarios and test cases for the user stories and acceptance
criteria
- Ensure
all impacted areas are tested and documented
- Participate
in sprint ceremonies
Mandatory skills:
- Able
to architect the frameworks
- Expert
in atleast one programming language ( java , Python ,C# etc )
- understand
the big picture & impact of day to day decisions on business, product
& the customers
- set
the right direction for the team and leads by example
- align
& inspire the team to gravitate towards the shared vision
- enable
agility to respond to product changes effectively
- possess
the innate ability to be trusted by everyone
- mentor
& coach the team
- actively
engage with the team and help build Frameworks
- Should
have worked on developing automation tools or frameworks to test Big Data,
Rest APIs, microservices, data migration, failover mechanism, blue green
setups
- Good
knowledge on the DevOps tooling and processes.
- Excellent
understanding on the REST APIs and its usage.
- Excellent
Knowledge of SQL and/or Hive query scripting.
- Experience
in working or testing with distributed architecture
- Experience
with Azure or similar cloud providers
- Ability
to build Performance frameworks from ground up.
- Experience
in industry best practices in SW development processes: Unit testing, code
coverage, OO design, code quality, automation, code reviews etc.
- Good
coding skills and debugging skills.
- Problem
solving capabilities, and solution provider.
- Solving
complex testing challenges and translate the same to the team.
- Ability
to collaborate and work well with others at all levels in the
organization
- Must
be self-directed and detail oriented.
