My list of Dummy sites Practical testing

I’ve compiled a list of dummy sites for both manual and automation testing that I personally use for learning and practice. If it helps, feel free to share it with others!

1. DemoQAhttps://demoqa.com/

A great site to understand basics like alerts, frames, and form interactions. Honestly, without a mentor assigning tasks and reviewing my work, I wouldn’t have known how to structure proper tests here—it’s useful but needs direction.

2. WebDriver UniversityWebDriverUniversity.com

This one felt a bit overwhelming for me. I couldn’t quite figure out how to make the most of it—maybe I didn’t dig deep enough, or maybe it’s just not beginner-friendly.

3. AcademyBugshttps://academybugs.com/

Super helpful for understanding how to find bugs, especially with its tutorial videos. I watched everything they had, but there’s no real hands-on practice—it’s mostly learning by observation.

4. Sauce Demohttps://www.saucedemo.com/

A buggy mobile app that’s fun to explore because the bugs are easy to find. But once I spotted them, I wasn’t sure what to do next—no guidance on documenting or reporting bugs. Also, access to the app’s code wasn’t clear, and as an Android user, I couldn’t test on iOS.

5. Evil Testerhttps://eviltester.com/

Offers links to small, interactive apps to test and break. You can find bugs, but the lack of structured tasks or feedback made it harder for me to understand if I was testing the “right” way.

Other Interesting Practice Platforms

QA Trainer Jschoolhttps://qa-trainer-jschool.web.app/

Discovered this one via YouTube. It’s beginner-friendly, shows what to test, and provides interactive guidance. I especially liked their test case generator with multiple categories—and no sign-up is needed! It does feel like it’s still in its early stages, though.

Testing Challengeshttp://testingchallenges.thetestingmap.org/

A decent platform, but it doesn’t seem to be actively updated anymore. Some challenges were hard to understand without context.

Accessibility Testing Resources

If you want to test for website accessibility—like usability for users with disabilities (color blindness, cognitive impairments, etc.)—here are some useful demo pages:
